LSA sets the stage on fire....literally!
jal manage a tripple whammy of awards,atif aslam rocks the house,fawad afzal khan of khuda kay liyay steals the show and the iconic resham gets a well-deserved tribute

the 7th anual LSA were a mixed bag this year.

the show which was first rumored to be hitting bangkok was said to be held in lahore.but due to the economice and security situation it was toned down and organised on a much smaller scale in karachi at the dha golf club.though not quite as big an affair as last years show it was still a night where the young
and hip stood out and many moments(good and bad) went down in history.Fawad afzal khan made his LSA debut and what a debut it was.hot on the heels of his first super hit film khuda kay liyay,the rocker-turned-filmstar gave an incredible performance on stage dancing to the tune of allah hoo off khuda kay liyay fawad was joined on stage by the man behind the song sufi singer par excellence saeen zahoor who moved in his characteristic ecstatic manner.three dancers and three men dressed as dervishes formed the backdrop while fawad dressed in simple jeans moved on stage and looked fabulous doing so.it wasnt so much the steps but his energy and confidence which made hi performance memorable.The now defunct band ep gave fawad a cult following and shoaib mansoors mega hit khuda kay
liyay made him a household name showing off his courageous and talented side as an actor and with this performace fawad has joined the league of young stars who will take pakistan
forward.another touching highlight of the show belonged to folk singer reshma who not only picked up the unilever lifetime achievement award but also came on stage joined by atif aslam who lip synced to her most famous tune lambi judai.shehzad roy also joined her singing his version of her hit song chori chori both singers had pre-recorded the songs in their own vocals and they seemed genuinely happy to be in the company of reshma who has been suffering from cancer and is too weak to give a live performance.she is referred to as the voice of the desert was given a tribute worhty of her talent.and it was heartwarming to see the new blood paying respect to such an iconice singer.and LSA favourite boy atif dint stop at just that.he may not have won best music album for meri kahani but that dint seem to have dampened his spirit as he belted out three songs live.atif aslam who came dressed up as a cop sang crowd pleasers like meri kahani,mahi ve and pehli nazar driving his fans hysterical.there were a few moments this time at the LSA that made the show so enjoyable and atif aslams performance was one of them.he played his heart out and it showed.the amn has stage presence,star power and charisma that translates beautifully to the audience.Jal also performed live but they did not have the same punch as atif lucky for them the night still turned out to be pretty big.the boys from lahore walked away with all three awards -song of the year for sajni,best music album for boondh and best msuic video for sajni which went to bilal lashari.

Best Dressed on the LSA Red Carpet: Atif Aslam (wearing Shahbaz Aslam) and Tooba (wearing Sanam Agha)


Dressed up as a cop a'la Village People, Atif Aslam certainly did catch the eye as one of the most innovatively dressed celebrity. It gave the red carpet a little bit of edge as well drama that always helps.

Tooba, while looking pretty in black (No Nomi this year!) didn't really deserve to be awarded Best Dressed as many others were looking better, especially Reema who positively glowed in an Usman Dittu sari. But Tariq Amin was the judge and his vote counted!
