INTERVIEW

ATIF ASLAM
MAG : Nowadays, what are you doing in your daily life?
ATIF ASLAM : I am trying to spend some time with my family. I think I have done a lot of work and I might burn out someday.
MAG : Are you coming out with a new video soon?
ATIF ASLAM : No not in the near future. I believe there is a time for everything.
MAG : When you are on stage, what are you usually thinking?
ATIF ASLAM : I feel connected to God. In turn, I feel my audience is also being connected to Him, through my performance.
MAG : Which country have you loved performing in?
ATIF ASLAM : I performed at the Royal Albert Hall and that was brilliant. It is the dream of every musician to perform there.
MAG : Have you ever thought of opening up a school for musicians?
ATIF ASLAM : I personally think I am too small an artist for that yet.
MAG : Why are you going through an internal conflict between your glamorous and normal life, at this particular time?
ATIF ASLAM : Well, if a normal person makes a mistake, it is not noticed, and does not come in the limelight. However, if a star makes the same mistake, he'll be judged for it and his personal life will start being discussed.
MAG : Which directors are you looking to work with in the future?
ATIF ASLAM : If in India, I'll work with Kookie Gulati. He has done my videos for Doorie.
MAG : You have also been criticized for working with Indians a lot. What do you say to that?
ATIF ASLAM : Nothing really. I like whatever the media says, because I do believe in negative publicity to a certain extent.
MAG : Have you been quite affected by the situation in the country? What do you think is the future for all of us and for musicians in general?
ATIF ASLAM : Yes I have. I personally believe that God willing, everything will be alright. However, it will take a little time.
MAG : Any advice you'd like to give to new musicians coming onto the scene?
ATIF ASLAM : Yes, I'd like to tell them to follow their own music and not to follow anyone else
